Understand how GHOST CHAT works before you share a private invitation. These answers explain both the useful features and the important limits.
Can I use GHOST CHAT without creating an account?
Yes. Open the site, create a private chat or group and share the personal invitation link with the people you want to talk to. You do not need to provide a telephone number to start a conversation. A recipient needs a compatible browser and the complete invitation link or access code.
How do I start a private conversation with one person?
Choose a 1-on-1 chat, copy the personal invitation link and send it privately to your intended recipient. The other person opens the link, saves the access code when prompted and enters the conversation. Someone who obtains a valid invitation may access that chat, so treat your link like a password.
How many people can join a group chat?
New groups can have between 2 and 20 people, including the creator. Each group participant receives an individual invitation and emoji identity. The group owner can manage access and delete the group. Existing groups created under earlier limits may have different membership configurations.
Are my messages encrypted?
Private and group chat messages are encrypted in the browser before being sent to the server. Private messages within groups use a separate encryption mechanism. However, no independent security audit has been completed. Encryption does not prevent a recipient from copying text, taking screenshots or revealing an invitation link.
Why should I save my invitation code?
Your personal invitation contains the information needed to return to the conversation while it remains available. For safety, store the code somewhere private, such as a password manager. A lost code may not be recoverable; copying your code into a public post would let others try to use your chat identity.
Can I chat across multiple phones or computers?
GHOST CHAT can be opened in a modern phone or desktop browser. However, an identity's private-message encryption keys may be tied to its original browser. Secure transfer of those keys between devices is not yet available. Do not assume a code gives seamless access to all message history on a different device.
What happens when I delete a chat for everyone?
The chat owner can remove an entire conversation or group for everyone through the available delete controls. Deletion revokes access and removes the server-side room data as implemented, but it cannot erase screenshots, downloads, notifications or copies that another participant previously saved. Think carefully before sharing sensitive information.
Does online status mean somebody is reading my messages?
No. Online indicators show recent browser activity, not verified attention or identity. A displayed delivery or read indicator also cannot prove that someone understood a message.
Is GHOST CHAT completely anonymous?
It does not require a chat account or telephone number. That is different from complete anonymity: hosting providers and your internet connection can process technical information, while invitation holders may know whom they invited. For details, read the privacy notice and safety information.
What information is collected when I visit the website?
The website records page visits using a random per-session identifier that is hashed on the server for basic aggregate statistics. Technical request information may also be processed for security and abuse limits. If you submit the contact form, the details you enter are stored for the operator to answer your request. See the privacy notice for more information.
Do I have to pay?
The core chat website currently states that it is free to use. Any future paid services or third-party advertisements should be clearly disclosed before use. Do not make payments to anyone claiming a chat access fee without confirming the offer on the official site.
How do I contact the operator or report a problem?
Use the contact form at the bottom of the Privacy & Safety page. Do not send passwords, private chat invitation codes, financial details or other sensitive information in a support message.
