GHOST CHAT.
Privacy made simple

Privacy comes first.

Built around private invitations, browser-side encryption and clear control over who joins your conversations.

🔒 Encryption

Are messages protected?

Private and group chat messages are encrypted in your browser before they reach the server. Keep your invitation secret. Direct messages in groups use separate encryption keys.

🔑 Invitations

Who can join?

Anyone with a valid personal invitation can use that emoji identity. A link does not prove who someone really is. Keep using the same browser for group private messages; new devices cannot silently replace an existing private-message key. Opening the same identity on another device without its original key is blocked; secure device-to-device transfer is not yet available.

🧹 Deletion

Can messages disappear?

Messages may be stored temporarily. Deleting a group cannot remove screenshots or copies that other people already saved.

🛡️ Safety

What does private mean?

You can chat without creating an account or sharing your phone number. Network and hosting providers may still process technical connection data. GHOST CHAT has not yet had an independent security audit.

Important: Protect your privacy: keep invitation links secret and avoid sharing passwords or bank details. Removing a group member rotates the key for future group messages and revokes unused invitations. It cannot erase keys, screenshots, or message copies that a participant already obtained before removal. Temporarily offline remaining participants can recover their new key when they reconnect.

How to get started →

When are messages removed?

Rooms expire after 24 hours. An automatic database cleanup runs every five minutes to remove expired rooms and related chat records. This is not instantaneous: scheduled cleanup may lag, and provider backups can retain previous copies according to their retention policies. A room creator can delete a conversation sooner using a separate deletion key stored in their browser. Ordinary invitation links created now do not include that key. Keep your invitations private because they still contain the encryption key.
